“That would make a great motion graphics piece…” I thought as I stared, fixated on a packet of Seven Seas Multivitamins in my local Boots store. Accepting the fact I had no access to any assets I set about the arduous task of creating this motion graphics animation from scratch!

Here’s a brief run-down of the process:
1. Recreating the logo and packaging design in Adobe Illustrator
2. Using Mograph Cloners in Cinema 4D to re-create the ‘turbine’ surrounding the logo
3. Compositing the ‘turbine’ using various track mattes and blend modes in After Effects
4. Generating the gold ellipses surrounding the logo utilising the Shape Layer Repeater in After Effects
5. Creating the glow and optic animations using VC Optical Flares
6. Crafting the packshots and animating in Cinema 4D, exporting object buffers, null objects and camera data
7. Final composite and grade in After Effects

I enjoy setting myself silly challenges and seeing how far I get; it’s the best way to learn in my opinion.
