Animating 2D to 3D in Cinema 4D

I've always admired the cute, fun and quirky animations of Headspace. In particular, how they transition from a seemingly 2-dimensional world to a 3D one. I decided I'd properly investigate a workflow that would allow me to do the same. So here we are, the aptly (if, un-creatively) named: 2D 3D Project... Crafted in Cinema 4D, rendered with the Standard Renderer and composited in After Effects (along with a shed-load of Shape Layers).
